Our Story
Nestled in the hills of Kachulagenyi, just minutes from the ancient trees of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Bwindi My Home is a recently renovated lodge built for travellers who want authenticity alongside comfort.
With a breathtaking balcony facing the forest, a warm bar, and a garden that comes alive at dawn, this is the base camp for one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife experiences — mountain gorilla trekking.
Our Commitment
When you stay at Bwindi My Home, your visit directly supports the local community and the natural world around us. We believe responsible tourism creates lasting change.
Through our activities and partnerships, we support a small local school in the area — ensuring that children in the Kachulagenyi community have access to education and a brighter future.
We work closely with the Batwa — the indigenous people who have called Bwindi home for centuries. By integrating them into our tourism experience, we help them build a sustainable income and a future outside the national park boundaries.
We collaborate with local conservation partners, including the nearby Pangolin Rescue Center, to protect the unique and vulnerable wildlife of the Bwindi region. Every stay contributes to these vital efforts.
Accommodation
Every room at Bwindi My Home is a private retreat — spacious, sun-drenched, and designed to bring the forest inside. Wake up to birdsong and mountain mist from your own balcony.

The Highlight
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to roughly half the world's remaining mountain gorilla population. From our doorstep, venture into the ancient forest for a face-to-face encounter unlike anything on Earth.
Several habituated gorilla families roam the Buhoma and Ruhija sectors — our team helps arrange permits well in advance.
Experienced trackers and rangers lead every trek, ensuring your safety and maximum wildlife time.
Bwindi My Home sits just minutes from the park gate — no long transfers, more time in the forest.
Packed lunches, walking poles, gaiters, and rain gear — we prepare you for everything the rainforest has to offer.
"I had an absolutely wonderful time staying at this locally-owned lodge. Richard arranged my gorilla permit without any issues and can also help with itineraries as well if self-planning as I did. Everything about the experience here was perfect - the rooms, staff and food were all great. ♡"

Meet the indigenous Batwa people, learn their forest traditions, and gain a profound perspective on life in the rainforest.
Wake before dawn and hike to panoramic ridges where mist rolls through the valley as the forest stirs to life below.
Bwindi is also home to chimpanzees and red-tailed monkeys — days in the forest rarely disappoint wildlife lovers.
Stroll through Buhoma village, visit local schools, and experience the warm hospitality of Ugandan highland communities.
Golden hour light over the forest canopy, rare birds, charismatic primates — every moment is a frame worth capturing.
Linger over Ugandan coffee in our garden bar, let the forest soundtrack wash over you, and simply breathe it all in.
